the Prater home, with its plethora of local art and an awe-inspiring staircase.
The spiral staircase is a sculpture in its own right; its smooth, sleek lines are highlighted with the use of two woods (maple, with a mahogany trim).
In the entranceway, the full magnificence of 25-foot ceilings is only enhanced by an entire wall of floor to ceiling windows.
Glass shelves hang from the ceiling in the Praters’ kitchen. They hold both practical and pretty decorations.
The kitchen also has a gas grill that’s built directly into the brick wall.
Even the cabinets have a touch of flair with their curves.
The etched design on the glass partition in the master bathroom was inspired by some Matisse sketches that Tom and Kim Prater both liked.
